Ah longing for those summer days, to sit in the sun on a beach and remember the fun days of past vacations.

I never did learn to swim, but I do love the weather. I tended to sit in hot tubs instead. I love the poem.
In the tropical climate, where I live, summer means torrid weather, mosquitoes and blazing sun. Thanks for sharing beautiful summer scenes, I loved all he images in haiku.

What lovely memories you've pulled out of my depths with this senryu's, Ruby :)
Friday afternoons at the public swimming pool, me and my pals. We were 14. The girls and boys separate, but checking each other properly out.
I was shy to walk, what about parading up and down or diving into the pool, because I did not have well-developed calves to boast with. So the day the most beautiful and popular boy walked by and gave me ever so casual a cold drink, I was so thrilled I could not stop smiling.

Hello Flora, I have a story about how i learned to swim. Two boys took me to the deep side of the pool, telling me they would hold tight until we reached the edge, when we got to the middle, they turned lose, I swam to the side. I was furious. They told me they knew that was the only way i would conquer my fear of water, and they were correct, but i was still MAD..HaHa..Thank you..Cheers

In my mid February- funk,
you take me back to
summers lovely trunks,
that hold the sweet aromas
of vacations of the senses,
in June July And August,
now most sadly all past tenses.
I can smell the chlorine mingled with,
that coconut lotion spread,
and enjoy the sun baked towel
cradling my wet body and head,
and I see her blue eyes opening
to acknowledge I am there,
as she pulls me close in a damp embrace
for the kisses we will share.
