Poetry, A bitter pill to swallow
She had a childlike faith so powerful and unwavering
A bitter pill I swallowed today
When God called
and took my sister Eva away
She died peacefully with her daughter Lea by her side
The drugs given for pain eased her gently
Embarking for her heavenly ride
A few weeks ago
She told me
I am so ready to go
You see her beloved husband Lyle had passed away
The thought of living without him
Brought only pain and dismay
She assured me he'd be waiting by the heavenly golden gate
With arms outstreached, nestling in his arms again
Would be so great
A childlike faith so powerful and an unwavering stance
She believed with all her heart she would live again in a place called heaven
Where there would be no pain, no sorrow, only joy and a renewed loving romance.
The picturesque scene is cause enough for rejoicing. My tears are not for her, they're for me. I miss her already and it's only been one day.
God bless you Eva. I love you..
