Simply the best
You were surely a bright and shining star
You were one of the very best
By far
Your voice was that of an angel, so beautiful, so devine
No one could surpass you
You were one-of-a-kind
Losing you brings feelings of sadness. You can never be replaced
We will always remember you
Your beautiful smiling face
Your voice will be heard above all the rest
In the angelic choir
You will simply be the best
The choir filled with greats like Frank, Sammy, Elvis and Dean
Mahalia Jackson
The best ever soul queen
Drugs an evil power
Can take the soul
Of a beautiful flower
Knows no boundaries
Gives no tomorrows
Takes you down a long lost road
Leads to destruction
Too heavy a load
God grant you the serenity to rest in a peaceful slumber
Knowing here on earth
We will always remember
Whitney our bright and shining star
Twinkling out there

Couldn't believe it when I first heard it, it hurts to see someone with such wonderful gift fall victim to the evil that is drugs and Alcohol,May her soul rest IN PEACE
Aaah... so sad. Beautiful Tribute though. She was very talented, had a wonderful upbringing, was doing so well and then met BB!! (Pardon me.) It just hurts, she's too young to die.
Her music will live on. She has such a unique voice and thanks for sharing the video above.

OH, my heart is so sore this Sunday morning. I loved her. Imagine my shock last night when I saw it on the news. I still don't believe, my fiancé doesn't believe. He keeps saying that they are making a mistake. He keeps asking if I am sure that's who they said. He refused to listen to the news himself, that's how we love Whitney here. I am sure there are other Jamaicans taking it harder than we are.

She was not only beautiful physically, but her heart and soul shone so bright. Her talent unsurpassed, but tragedy with the wrong involvement brought her down. Drugs and love life were a bad mix for her.
If only she was able to walk away from that life, she couldn't and thus the fall. I truly enjoyed her talent. I will always love you shone in her movie with Kevin Cosner, The Bodyguard. I will remember her best for her music. Nicely done Always, may this beautiful lady RIP and be singing with the angels on high.
I was shocked this morning to read about her death. She was due to make a come back and it would have been amazing to hear her beautiful again, Joyce.

Years ago, my daughter and I traveled to Tampa to hear Whittney in concert...we waited outside the giant stadium for the better part of the day...every time a limo came up, we ran to get a closer look, saying...is it Whitney?
the performance was spectacular and altho there were 80000 of us there it is reported, we felt she was singing to just us...
she was amazing..so sad she left us too soon.

Voted up, awesome, and beautiful Ruby. This was such sad news when I heard this. She really hit the top and rock bottom. I have had my struggles when I was earlier and it is not easy. With her, it is magnified by 50 times. I really hated that everyone immediately pointed to drugs. I haven't heard anything personally, but I thought she was doing much better. AE, heart-felt poem my dear. Wonderful job.

The day I heard about her death, I watched The Bodyguard, one of my faves. Ahh, she's everything. So young to die at 48. But from her quote, "We all die. The goal isn't to live forever. The goal is to create something that will." She lived well and will never die. Cheers!

My favorites she did besides this one were "The Greatest Love of All" and "One Moment in Time"...I don't think anyone was ready to let her go. It wasn't her time. May she fly with the angels.

I love Whitney, she's an amazing person and this song you posted made me cry because this was the song my sister and I sang together growing up. It just remind me of all the memories, both sad and happiness between me and my sister growing up. Whenever it sang, "and I will always love you" my sister and I would point at each other while singing...*tears* Thank you for posting this!
